Eyeson for Stream Deck V3 - Release Notes

Written by Stefan Steinbauer | November 18, 2024

We are proud to announce the release of version 3 of our Application for Elgato Stream Deck. Whether you use it for rapid prototyping or managing virtual situation rooms: There will be something in it for you.

TLDR

  • Added drag&drop support for file input
  • Added optional playback display name
  • Added WebP image support to File Presentation, Layer, and Watermark
  • Added improved debug and error reporting
  • Added more virtual background images
  • And as always: bugfixes and performance improvements

Drag & Drop for File Input

You can now drag and drop files into the action dialogs. The action will also check if the file is supported (green frame) or can not be used (red frame).

Optional Display Name for Playback

When using a Playback with a Standalone Position (so not replacing your "self video"), you can now also give it a Display Name, so a playback can also have a name banner. This allows marking playbacks with, e.g., time and date or additional context. You will find this handy in public safety, critical infrastructure, or defense settings.

WebP Image Support

The WebP File Format was developed for use on the web and is now widely supported. It combines quality and compression - what might be more important is that WebP supports transparency.

You can now use WebP in File Presentation, Layer, and Watermark.

The little things

We also improved the error reporting in the actions to speed up debugging when attaching outside sources to your virtual situation room. We added more virtual background options and of course, streamlined edge cases behind the scenes.
